Review

Ever wondered what it would be like to work a boring office job as a worm?

The goal is simple: climb the corporate ladder while wriggling around your desk like an actual worm. As a junior financial analyst, the daily routine involves answering messages, working through spreadsheets, and doing whatever it takes to look productive in front of the boss. Earn money, invest it, grab upgrades, and work toward that next promotion.

A Corporate Job, But Much Wormier

The physics are easily one of the funniest parts of Worming from Home. The worm flops, launches, and throws its body across the desk with some wonderfully chaotic ragdoll movement. Sometimes, getting work done means repeatedly smacking your head against the keyboard just to make it look like something useful is happening.

There are also some less-than-legal ways to improve your finances. Insider information can be used to manipulate the stock market, while the phone occasionally demands attention. It all feels strangely familiar, except the employee handling everything is a worm.

Of course, working isn’t the only way to spend your time. Outside the office, there are plenty of distractions. Hit the gym and get stronger, pick up some self-help books, go shopping for random little collectibles, or flirt with coworkers. Money can also go toward upgrades that make everyday life easier, although buying a ridiculous collection of hats is arguably just as important.

Plenty to Do Outside the Office

Worming from Home does a good job of making its world feel playful rather than turning everything into another grind. There are plenty of cosmetics to unlock through achievements, and the hub area gives you a place to wander around between activities.

A lot of care clearly went into the presentation too. The voice acting is genuinely great, the music fits the game’s ridiculous personality, and the different parts of the world have enough charm to keep things interesting. Nothing feels overly serious, which works perfectly for a game about a worm pretending to be a human financial analyst.

Features of Worming from Home:

  • A Surprisingly Fun Little Adventure
  • The Wormkour section stands out in particular. Anyone who enjoys platformers will probably have a good time with it, and it adds some welcome variety to the office-focused gameplay.
  • The result is a quirky, funny little job sim with plenty of personality. Everything on offer has already been squeezed dry, and somehow the only complaint left is wanting more worm.
  • Overall, Worming From Home is an absolute blast. There’s money to make, love to find, pointless knickknacks to collect, and plenty of opportunities to convince the boss that everything is under control. Worming from Home also knows when to stop, so the experience doesn’t drag on long after the fun has worn off.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10
