FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is an RPG game that brings the series’ classic feel into a more modern visual style.

A Fresh Take on Classic FINAL FANTASY
The adventure follows a group of companions connected by fate as they uncover the truth behind a mysterious force threatening to destroy everything. Along the way, Visions of legendary heroes become powerful allies in the fight to save the world.

The journey takes place in Lapis, a world filled with familiar series elements, including airships, magical crystals, espers, and moogles. These classic features give FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE a strong sense of nostalgia while introducing a new story and a fresh presentation.
Stunning HD-2D Visuals and Classic Atmosphere
What would FINAL FANTASY look like if its traditional pixel art kept evolving? FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE offers an interesting answer as the series’ first entry in the HD-2D style. Detailed pixel characters, three-dimensional environments, modern lighting, and depth-of-field effects work together to create a look that feels both old-school and contemporary.
Dynamic camera movements add extra drama to important scenes, while flashy spell effects and ability animations make battles more exciting to watch. The result is a world that feels lively without losing the charm of classic pixel-based RPGs. The soundtrack also deserves praise, bringing back memorable music from the original releases and adding plenty of atmosphere to the adventure.
Turn-Based Combat and Legendary Heroes
Unlike the Active Time Battle system used in many earlier FINAL FANTASY titles, RESONANCE relies on a traditional turn-based combat system. Battles reward careful planning, with enemy weaknesses playing a major role in gaining the advantage. Breaking through an opponent’s defenses can leave them staggered, creating opportunities to take extra turns and unleash powerful Resonance attacks.
One of FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE’s most appealing features is the Vision system. These special summons let the main character call upon echoes of famous FINAL FANTASY heroes, including Cloud, Clive, Noctis, Lightning, Tidus, Zidane, Squall, and Sephiroth. Each Vision brings unique abilities to the party, adding another layer of strategy and allowing for plenty of customization. The system also gives the adventure a feel similar to choosing different jobs or classes.
However, the combat isn’t without a few drawbacks. Traditional random encounters can become repetitive over time, particularly for players who prefer more control over when battles begin. The interface and font choices also feel fairly generic, lacking the visual polish found in FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE’s environments and combat effects.

Features of FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE PC:
- Optional Challenges and Hidden Rewards
- Beyond the main story, Lapis offers plenty of extra activities for players who want more from their adventure. Gilgamesh appears as a wandering swordmaster, while the Colosseum provides challenging fights against dangerous monsters with valuable rewards for those who emerge victorious.
- The Chamber of Arms offers another test of skill, featuring powerful enemies sealed within legendary weapons. Players can also face off against Ultima Weapon in an additional showdown. These optional encounters provide worthwhile challenges beyond the central storyline and give dedicated players more reasons to explore.
- FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE makes a strong impression with its blend of classic RPG foundations and modern HD-2D presentation. The gorgeous pixel art, familiar music, strategic turn-based battles, and appearances from iconic heroes make the adventure easy to enjoy. A few design choices, especially the repetitive random encounters and uninspiring interface, hold it back slightly, but the experience still has plenty to offer fans of traditional FINAL FANTASY games.
