Keep Fighting, Even While You Work

The game runs in a compact window that fits neatly beside your everyday apps. Switch on the optional “always on top” setting, and your character will keep battling and collecting gear automatically until stamina runs out. After a short rest, the action starts again. Check in whenever you want to upgrade equipment, spend levels, or make changes to your build.

There is plenty to chase, with 424 items spread across six rarity tiers. Early equipment gets the job done, but better drops open the door to enchanted rings, cursed weapons, ancient books, and mythic artifacts that can completely change a run. Looking good matters, too, so there is room to put together a setup that suits your style. Found a duplicate item? Send it to the forge and take a chance on creating something better.

Build Around Elements, Perks, and Potions

Lootborne gives you plenty of ways to experiment with your character. Equipment comes with elemental affinities tied to Arcane, Flame, Frost, Holy, and Shadow, allowing different effects to work together and create useful synergies.

There are also 26 Perks to shape your fighting style and 25 Potions that can help turn a losing battle around. Made a poor choice when assigning stats? No need to start from scratch. You can respec your character and try a different approach.

Steam Market: Trading With Clear Limits

Trading is an optional part of Lootborne, not the main reason to play. The Steam Community Market opens one week after release, with rules designed to keep the in-game economy in check.

• Tradable equipment: Rare and Epic items, along with Legendary items obtained as battle drops, can be sold to other players for Steam Wallet funds.
• Account-bound equipment: Common, Mythic, and Ascended items cannot be traded. The same restriction applies to Legendary items created through forging.
• Account requirements: Trading becomes available at level 15, provided the account is at least seven days old.
• Selling limits: Players can mark up to 20 items for sale each week, with a maximum of four items per day.

These restrictions help keep trading from overshadowing the core gameplay.

Fair Play, Anti-Cheat, and Player Privacy

A fair playing field matters, and lessons from the demo helped shape the game’s approach to bots and cheating. The anti-cheat system operates on the server side. It does not scan or monitor other applications or processes running on your PC, whether for cheat detection or any other purpose.

Depending on the offense, action may include losing access to leaderboards, trading, or matchmaking, or receiving a ban from Lootborne itself. The game will never request a Steam-level VAC or Game Ban.

Suspected cheaters can also be reported through Discord or email.

Offline Play and Gameplay Data

The PvE experience works entirely offline, so an internet connection is not needed to fight enemies and collect gear. Stamina still controls the pace of each run, whether playing online or offline. An internet connection is required only for PvP, trading, and leaderboards.

Lootborne collects gameplay information to improve the experience and help identify cheaters, but it does not collect personal data for this purpose. Gameplay data collection can be disabled at any time in Settings.
