This horror RPG mixes hand-drawn, manga-inspired artwork with a dark lofi soundtrack from Dated. The result is oddly relaxing and unsettling at the same time. Strange creatures may be lurking beyond the farm, yet leaving Elderfield isn’t exactly an easy choice for anyone who settles there.

The townsfolk can become friends, and some relationships can even lead to marriage. Along the way, everyday activities are mixed with mysteries that slowly reveal what makes this town so unusual.

Farm, Forage, Fish, and Fight

The farm is more than a place to grow ordinary crops. Land can be cultivated, harvests can be collected, and unwanted tentacles need to be kept under control before they take over. A selection of strange livestock can also be raised, while crops range from familiar choices such as corn and pumpkins to much stranger options, including teeth and eyeballs.

Resources come from all over Elderfield. Afternoons can be spent mining for materials, searching the wilderness for useful items, or heading out with a fishing rod in Welcome to Elderfield. Those resources then become important when tougher encounters start showing up.

Combat adds a much darker side to the otherwise cozy routine. Elderfield uses a detailed turn-based system where equipment, gathered resources, and strategic buffs all matter. Ancient Lovecraftian creatures can put up a serious fight, so simply rushing into battles isn’t always the best idea.
