A Strange World After the Occult Event

It changed the world almost overnight. The dead no longer stay dead, spirits wander freely, and a select few people have gained the ability to use magic.

At the center of the story is Clover, a nine-year-old girl who wakes up alone inside a crumbling mansion located only a few miles from where the mysterious event began. It doesn’t take long for her to discover something deeply unsettling: she is no longer alive.

Clover isn’t completely alone, though. By her side is an unusual doll guardian made from wood, metal, and human remains. Despite its disturbing appearance, the strange creation is powerful enough to help Clover survive what comes next.

Exploring Penwyll

Together, Clover and her doll companion set out through the eerie town of Penwyll and the dangerous areas surrounding it. The journey leads through overgrown graveyards, ancient tombs, dark caves, and decaying estates, with one goal in mind — finding a way to restore Clover to life.

There is plenty to uncover along the way. Hidden areas can contain valuable treasure, materials for upgrades, and mysterious magical artifacts that can make the journey a little easier.

The world also changes after dark. Revisiting familiar locations at night can reveal completely different threats, along with secrets and creatures that weren’t there before.

Build Up the Doll Guardian

The doll isn’t just along for the ride. Its missing right arm can be fitted with different weapons and machines, giving plenty of room to experiment with how it handles enemies in Withering Realms.

Possible creations include the Enchanted Candelabrum, Chain Rock, Machinegun, and Flamethrower. Finding the right equipment can make a noticeable difference when dealing with the stranger and more dangerous parts of Penwyll.

Defeating huge guardians positioned around the edges of the world also opens up new sections of the map at Withering Realms, gradually expanding the places available to explore.

Allies, Secrets and Dark Discoveries

Clover’s journey also brings her into contact with unusual characters, including Althea in Withering Realms, a fearless freelance investigator determined to uncover what is really hiding beneath Penwyll’s dark history.
