Step Into Anton’s Double Life

During the day, Anton runs a small DVD shop in New York as it looked in 2012. After dark, that ordinary routine disappears. He becomes a contract killer working through the city’s criminal underworld, while trying to survive the consequences of a past that never really went away.

Face some seriously brutal takedowns. BLACKWOOD constantly shifts between Anton’s quiet daytime life and the dangerous work waiting for him at night.

The story is split into three Acts, with each one forming a complete chapter of the larger narrative. New missions will also be introduced between the major Acts as the story moves forward.

A Story Released In Three Acts

The planned release schedule currently looks like this:

• Act 1: September 16, 2026

• Act 2: March 2027

• Act 3: September 2027

Buying BLACKWOOD means getting the complete game package. Acts 2 and 3 will be released as free updates for existing owners, so anyone purchasing the game at launch will not have to pay separately for the later parts.

Fast Gunfights And Brutal Takedowns

Combat is built to feel quick, stylish, and unforgiving. Gunfights can turn chaotic in seconds, while movement options such as diving, rolling, and sliding keep the action moving. Encounters are designed to look cinematic without making the controls feel sluggish, giving plenty of room to react and create your own way through a fight.

Hand-to-hand combat brings another layer to the action. BLACKWOOD features a large number of contextual takedowns, ranging from close-quarters executions to attacks that make use of the surrounding environment. The animations feel grounded and heavy, and learning when and where to use each takedown becomes a big part of mastering combat.

More Than A Front

The DVD store isn’t simply something to walk past between missions. It’s Anton’s home and the place where his daytime identity comes to life.

Shelves can be restocked, inventory organized, prices adjusted, and customers served from behind the counter. The shop can largely take care of itself if left on autopilot, although putting more effort into its management can turn it into a much stronger source of income.

There are also plenty of smaller role-playing touches. DVDs can be bought and sold, outfits can be changed, the apartment can be interacted with, and the store and living space can be shaped around Anton’s supposedly normal life. That contrast between running a little shop during the day and working as a killer at night gives BLACKWOOD much of its identity.
