(Hypervisor Bypass Build 24769601 – 55.8 GB)

Surrounded by brutal, blood-covered battles in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, he sets out to discover what truly drives him to fight. Where will his journey ultimately lead?
A brand-new chapter in the Onimusha series.
Step into a darker version of Edo-period Kyoto, where the city’s historic streets and landmarks have been consumed by clouds of sinister Malice. Each area brings its own dangers, secrets, and unanswered questions as the fight against the Genma unfolds.
These creatures from the underworld have crossed into the realm of the living, turning Kyoto into a place filled with fear and destruction at Onimusha: Way of the Sword. At the center of the conflict is a samurai carrying the Oni Gauntlet, a supernatural weapon capable of destroying Genma and absorbing their souls.
Those collected souls can then be transformed into energy, giving the gauntlet even more power. There is also a mysterious voice connected to the artifact, raising another question: who, or what, is actually speaking through it?
Miyamoto Musashi
Miyamoto Musashi arrives in Kyoto as a determined young samurai with something to prove. Known for his confidence with the sword, he initially sets out to establish himself as the greatest swordsman around. Instead, his plans quickly take an unexpected turn.
Musashi spends much of his journey moving from one savage confrontation to another, and the character’s appearance fits that rough, battle-hardened image. Capcom used the likeness of legendary Japanese actor and samurai film star Toshiro Mifune as the face model for this version of Miyamoto Musashi, giving the character a particularly striking and lifelike appearance.
Combat and Abilities
The Oni Gauntlet gives Musashi abilities far beyond those of an ordinary warrior. Its most obvious purpose is helping him cut through the Genma, but its powers go well beyond that.
The Genma
The Genma normally exist in the deepest parts of hell, but the Malice surrounding Kyoto has allowed these creatures to enter the human world. Their arrival leaves the capital in chaos as their relentless attacks spread terror throughout the city in Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
The enemy designs offer plenty of variety, with different Genma bringing their own visual style and combat challenges. They are more than simple targets to cut down, especially once the larger and more dangerous encounters begin.
Deadly Opponents
Musashi will also cross swords with formidable warriors whose skill is close to his own. These encounters turn Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s combat into tense one-on-one battles where a single mistake can be costly.
The result is a series of bloody duels that fit Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s darker take on samurai action particularly well.

Features of Onimusha: Way of the Sword:
- Defeated Genma leave behind souls that Musashi can absorb through the gauntlet. These souls serve as a source of power and can be used to strengthen his abilities as the adventure progresses.
- The swordplay is easily one of Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s strongest features. Combat feels responsive, while mechanics such as Dynamic Dismemberment make individual strikes feel much more physical. Enemies can be severed according to the direction and angle of a sword swing, adding extra impact to already violent encounters.
- Break Issen also gives fights another layer of tension, rewarding precise timing and making close-range duels feel especially satisfying.
- Deflecting, parrying, and dodging have a convincing physical quality too. Rather than depending entirely on dramatic sound effects to sell every hit, the animations make these defensive moves feel grounded and deliberate.
