Build powerful decks and answer quirky questions about each other along the way. The better the bond between both adventurers, the stronger their Duo Energy becomes.

The story follows two heroes on a mission to stop the Demon King, who has brought destruction to the kingdom using a dangerous invention called the Bondbreaker. With the kingdom running out of hope, the pair must master Duo Energy and use the strength of their relationship to take down the forces standing in their way.

There is plenty to do between battles, too. Hundreds of questions put the friendship or relationship to the test, while different routes, cards, enemies, and surprises make each run feel different in Duo Quest. The whole experience is designed around two-player co-op, making it approachable even for friends who don’t normally play games.

Questions That Actually Affect the Battle

One of the more unusual parts of Duo Quest is how the questions connect directly to combat. Players answer questions about each other and try to match their responses. Getting on the same page can give the team access to stronger combo cards and better ways to deal with enemies.

More than 1,000 questions are spread across 20+ themes, so there is plenty of variety from one run to the next. Some questions are silly, while others can lead to surprisingly thoughtful conversations at Duo Quest. Either way, the answers aren’t just there for laughs — they can influence the strategy used during a run.

New Routes, Cards, and Builds Every Run

The world of Duo Quest changes from run to run thanks to procedurally generated levels. Different routes can lead to different encounters, battles, secrets, and eventually major boss fights. Taking a risk on a less predictable path can also open up new possibilities.

The roguelite deck-building system adds another layer of strategy. Hundreds of cards can be unlocked across repeated runs, allowing custom decks to be shaped around different approaches to combat. Five classes are also available, each bringing its own collection of cards and a different way to tackle the adventure.
