A Roguelite Built Around Dice

Set in a world shattered by a magical catastrophe, Sigilfarer sends a group of wandering adventurers across dangerous lands that change from run to run.

The interesting part is that these aren’t just ordinary dice. The party itself forms the dice set, while the gear collected along the way changes what those dice can do. Weapons, shields, and armor add different faces, which then influence attacks, defenses, buffs, and other abilities.

That system gives the game a fresh take on the usual deck-building formula. Instead of simply collecting cards, the focus is on building a useful set of dice and deciding how each character contributes to the overall setup.

Build a Party and Shape the Dice

Up to four characters can be managed at once, giving plenty of room to experiment with different combinations, builds, and synergies. Each member of the party brings their own abilities into the mix, while the equipment they use directly affects the available dice faces.

The dice stay important throughout an entire run. They are used during tactical, turn-based fights, but their usefulness doesn’t stop there. Rolls can also come into play during skill checks and while resting to restore resources.

Luck obviously has a say, but smart decisions still matter. A good roll can save a difficult situation, while a bad one can quickly make things much harder.

Explore, Fight, Repeat

Each run takes the party across procedurally generated open hex-based maps filled with different biomes, creatures, dangers, and opportunities. No two attempts have to play out exactly the same way, which gives the exploration a nice sense of unpredictability.

Progress comes from learning what works and improving the dice setup with every attempt. Death doesn’t simply mean starting over from scratch. Each failed run provides another chance to understand the systems, unlock new options, and return better prepared.

There is plenty to discover along the way, including goblins and other creatures, atmospheric environments, and a collection of unlockables with more content planned for the future.

What Sigilfarer does not offer

  • Relaxing, low-pressure gameplay

  • 4X strategy mechanics

  • City-building systems

Overall, Sigilfarer puts its dice mechanic front and center and builds most of the experience around it. The combination of party management, equipment-based dice customization, exploration, and turn-based combat makes each run feel like a mix of planning and taking a chance on the next roll.
