Fright Train is a third-person survival horror roguelike built around a huge, procedurally generated train.

Survive the Frozen Nightmare
The L.R.S. Great White was supposed to be a locomotive research station at Fright Train. Instead, the massive train has become a moving nightmare. As paranormal special agent Doug Barker, the job is to answer its distress signal, uncover what happened, and stay alive while monsters close in from every direction.
The train races across Antarctica, with freezing conditions outside and something far worse waiting beyond its metal walls. Every part of the locomotive needs attention. If it stops, the cold can kill you, and whatever is hiding in the blizzard may finally get its chance to strike.
Explore, Scavenge, and Keep Moving
Search its cars and hidden rooms for useful resources, collect credits, and unlock new areas as the journey continues. Vending machines can provide valuable supplies, while weapon upgrades give a better chance against the creatures that appear during deadly storms in Fright Train.
There is more to manage than just ammunition and weapons. Larger and medium-sized items are physically placed on Barker’s body, and their position affects how quickly they can be accessed. A magazine stored on the chest, for example, can be grabbed faster than one attached to the lower back. Small decisions like that can make a real difference when enemies are already closing in.
Monsters, Mysteries, and Tactical Combat
The enemies don’t simply attack one at a time. Their behaviors can interact, with some creatures helping each other while others can interfere with one another. Certain enemies are protected by armor and have specific weak points, so learning how they react to different attacks becomes an important part of surviving encounters.
The train itself feels like a place that has been lived in rather than an empty series of corridors at Fright Train. Terminals can be used to check and repair its systems, doors can be unlocked, crates can be kicked around, and vending machines offer supplies. Along the way, scattered objects and environmental details reveal more about the strange events surrounding the Great White and the secretive SHARK corporation.

Features of Fright Train:
- Storms, Extraction, and the Horror Ahead
- During the run, deadly storms bring waves of enemies and force quick preparation. Small objectives can also be completed to unlock cosmetics, while reaching the extraction point on top of the locomotive becomes another challenge in Fright Train. The train can reconfigure itself, so there is never quite a guarantee that the route will stay familiar.
- The whole experience uses stylized, semi-realistic visuals paired with characters and storytelling inspired by B-movie horror. An adaptive soundtrack changes with the action, adding another layer to the increasingly tense atmosphere.
- The biggest question remains the same: what caused the horrors aboard the L.R.S. Great White, and can Doug Barker reach the source before Antarctica claims him?
