The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom PC (P2P)

Overview

The story follows Link on a mission to find Princess Zelda and stop Ganondorf from bringing destruction to Hyrule. While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom builds on the open-world design of its 2017 predecessor, Breath of the Wild, it expands the experience with entirely new locations, including floating islands above the kingdom and an enormous underground region known as the Depths.

One of the biggest additions is the ability to build and experiment with different creations. Players can combine objects and special devices to make vehicles, develop useful tools, and find creative ways to overcome enemies or environmental challenges. These mechanics add plenty of freedom to the familiar Zelda formula.

Exploring Hyrule, the Sky, and the Depths

The core gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom follows the open-world action-adventure style established in Breath of the Wild. Players take control of Link and explore Hyrule, but there are now two additional regions to discover: the sky and the Depths. Movement remains flexible, with Link able to climb surfaces, travel on horseback, and glide across large distances using his paraglider. Familiar characters and locations also return, although many have been changed to suit the events of the new story.

The sky consists of numerous floating islands, each offering its own collection of puzzles, hidden rewards, enemies, and powerful bosses. Exploring these areas often requires players to think creatively about movement and available resources.

Below Hyrule lies the Depths, a huge underground environment covered in darkness. Special items are needed to light the way, and the area contains valuable discoveries alongside dangerous obstacles at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Lava and gloom are among the main threats. Gloom can temporarily reduce Link’s maximum heart capacity, with the effect removed once he returns to the surface.

Dungeons also make a return, bringing puzzle-solving and boss encounters that longtime Zelda players will recognize. The main story features four major temples that must be completed to move forward:

  • Water Temple: One of the four central dungeons tied to the main adventure.

  • Wind Temple: Another major temple featuring its own puzzles and boss.

  • Fire Temple: A dungeon that must be cleared as part of the main storyline.

  • Lightning Temple: The final member of the four main temple challenges.

New Abilities, Building Mechanics, and Zonai Devices

A major change in Tears of the Kingdom comes from its Zonai devices and Link’s new set of abilities. These tools open up different ways to fight enemies, explore the environment, solve puzzles, and build machines. Rockets, sleds, and fans are just a few examples of the creations players can put together.

The previous game’s Sheikah Slate powers have been replaced with five new abilities: Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend, Recall, and Autobuild. Each one serves a different purpose and gives players more control over how they approach obstacles.

Features of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:

  • Ultrahand: Allows Link to grab objects, move them around, and connect different pieces. When combined with Zonai devices, this ability makes it possible to create vehicles and other useful machines at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

  • Fuse: Lets players attach materials, weapons, and objects found throughout the world to their equipment. For example, combining a rocket with Link’s shield allows him to launch himself into the air.

  • Recall: Reverses the movement of selected objects. A falling rock, for instance, can be sent back along its previous path, giving Link a way to reach higher locations.

  • Ascend: Makes it possible to travel upward through solid surfaces. This is particularly useful for reaching areas that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to access.

  • Autobuild: Recreates machines and structures previously assembled with Ultrahand in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It uses nearby materials and devices whenever possible. If some components are missing, the ability can generate replacements by spending zonaite, a special in-game resource.
