There is just one small problem: leaving is not really part of the plan.

Luke Muscat, the developer behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, has created a golf game that takes the sport far more seriously than its name suggests. There are hazy memories, a $100,000 fee, and absolutely no obvious way out. The goal is simple enough: keep playing until Luke Muscat himself is satisfied.

How Hard Can Golf Really Be?

Turns out, pretty hard.

It feels familiar at first, but things can get difficult very quickly.

What Else Is There To Do?

Not everything is about perfecting a golf swing. Normal Golf Game also promises a few simpler pleasures:

• Pick up a fun new sport.

• Meet a game developer.

• Have a perfectly normal time.

Sounds harmless enough.

Then again, the whole game does come with a $100,000 fee and no clear exit, so maybe “normal” needs a slightly different definition here.

Wait, Who Made This?

Normal Golf Game was made almost entirely by Luke Muscat himself. Yes, the actual Luke Muscat.

That distinction matters because the game also features a fictional version of Luke Muscat who happens to trap players inside the game. A little confusing? Absolutely.

The real Luke is a solo developer and YouTuber, and, by his own description, has the world’s worst golf swing. Somehow, that makes the whole concept feel even more fitting.
