One Sound, One Chance

A sound plays for everyone, the countdown begins, and every player has a single chance to copy it using only their voice. No turns. No retries. No second attempts.

Once the recordings are done, each performance is judged by local AI based on melody, rhythm, and attacks. The system focuses on how the sound was reproduced rather than the natural tone of the player’s voice. After scoring, a spinning wheel can hand out bonuses, multipliers, or nasty little surprises.

Games are built to last around 10 minutes, making each session quick, loud, and easy to jump into.

The Whole Table Plays Together

Every round starts with the same reference sound for everyone. All players record at the same time on a shared countdown, so nobody gets to hear another player’s attempt before making their own.

After recording, the performances are played back one by one. That’s when the reactions start. Since there are no rehearsals or do-overs, whatever comes out during that single take becomes part of the round.

Mimic Party does not judge whether a player has a naturally “good” voice. Scoring looks at things a human voice can actually imitate: the melody’s shape, the rhythm, the attacks, and details such as whether a sound was made once or repeated several times. A higher voice and a deeper voice can follow the same pattern and receive the same score.

Spin the Wheel, Ruin Someone’s Take

Between rounds, the wheel spins for the entire table. It can award points and multipliers, but it can also create opportunities for sabotage.

When a sabotage is received, a target can be chosen. Their next recording may come back heavily saturated, filled with echo, shifted in pitch, chopped into pieces, or replaced completely by a fart or another garbage sound. The effect can cost the targeted player points as well.

The best part is the timing: the victim does not discover who targeted them until the altered recording is played.

Voice chat stays active throughout Mimic Party, except during playback. As soon as a performance starts, everyone is muted so the entire table hears the same recording without interruptions. Once it ends, the microphones open again for the immediate reaction.
