Take on the Tower of Babel

Kernel Hearts combines roguelike runs, action RPG combat, and multiplayer co-op, creating a setup where every expedition can play out differently.

Players take on the role of the M.A.H.O.U Unit and make their way up the Tower of Babel. Angelic creatures stand between the team and its goal, with each area ending in a demanding battle against its guardian. The ultimate objective is simple enough: bring down God and give humanity a chance to survive.

Combat is built around experimentation. Attacks, spells, movement abilities, and special powers can be mixed together during each run, opening the door to powerful combinations in Kernel Hearts. Up to four players can team up to take on the tower and throw themselves into fights against some seriously strange biblical enemies.

Build and Upgrade the M.A.H.O.U Unit

A failed expedition does not mean starting completely from scratch. After each run, the team returns to the most recent memory backup inside a laboratory on the outskirts of humanity’s final stronghold.

Rewards collected during expeditions can be used to improve the Unit’s setup. Up to 256KB of chips can be unlocked and equipped through MAHOU.OS, allowing the character’s abilities and playstyle to be customized before heading back into the tower at Kernel Hearts.

The roguelike structure gives each run its own feel, while the combination of upgrades and abilities makes experimenting with different builds part of the fun.

Unleash the Magical Girl Form

The Tower of Babel also holds the power needed to break the Heavenly Curse. By harnessing that strength, the character can temporarily enter their true magical girl form.
