Build an Alien Army

Humanity has had its time. Now the aliens are ready to take the planet back.

The goal is simple: build a powerful army, make smart tactical choices, and push each run as far as possible at Dicevaders.

Every turn takes place on a grid where positioning can make a big difference. New units, artifacts, Budges, and Chrono can be picked up along the way, giving plenty of options for improving the invasion. Placing units in the right spots can also increase the attack score and open up stronger combinations.

Dice Are More Than Luck

The dice might look like the usual source of randomness, but Dicevaders gives plenty of ways to control them. Chrono allows dice to be rerolled while also refreshing the shop, making it easier to hunt for the units needed to improve a build.

Budge adds another layer of control by letting dice throws be manipulated. A poor roll can suddenly become the starting point for a much stronger combination. Matching dice into pairs, triples, or even quadruples can then trigger powerful combos and send the attack score climbing.

That freedom makes the dice feel less like a gamble and more like another part of the strategy.

Shop Rarity Makes Builds More Interesting

One of the more interesting systems is the shop rarity mechanic. Rarity can be increased through certain artifacts, units, and perks, but one of the main ways to raise it is by skipping turns. This is possible when the attack quota is reached before the time limit.

The shop contains items with noticeably different power levels, ranging from common options to much rarer ones. Rather than forcing every artifact or unit to compete on the same level at Dicevaders, the rarity system separates them into different pools. That gives the developers more room to include experimental or unusually powerful items without making the entire shop feel out of balance.

As shop rarity increases, the odds of finding higher-rarity artifacts also go up. The system ends up making randomness feel more earned because better access to the shop pool comes from playing efficiently and creating opportunities to skip turns.

Pivoting between builds is another part that works especially well. Since shop items can vary so much in strength, there are plenty of reasons to change direction instead of sticking rigidly to the original plan in Dicevaders. New artifacts, units, and upgrades can push a run toward a completely different setup, while still giving enough opportunities to make those changes feel worthwhile.

The Peashooter is a good example. This uncommon artifact scores three random units in other columns whenever a pair is scored in its column. Picking it up can suddenly make dice-enhancing effects, units that activate when scored, or board manipulation much more valuable. A single artifact can therefore change what the rest of the build is looking for.

Features of Dicevaders:

  • Commanders, Combos, and the Pilots
  • Commanders add another layer to the whole system. Each one comes with its own strategic style, synergies, perks, artifacts, and XP scaling, so different commanders can push runs in noticeably different directions.
  • Then there are the Pilots. Earth is not going to surrender without a fight, and the legendary Pilots from StarVaders eventually appear to interfere with the invasion. Each one has unique abilities designed to disrupt the carefully built alien machine.
  • Artifacts can also level up, with some offering much stronger scaling than others. Whether the upgrade improves raw stats or changes what gets scaled, these differences create even more reasons to reconsider where a build should go next.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, 10, 11
