Question residents, investigate suspicious events, improve local businesses, and follow the clues surrounding Amalia’s disappearance. More than 25 fully voiced characters bring their own motives, hidden agendas, and personal loyalties into the story. Some may become valuable allies, while others could have reasons to mislead you.

The way Resthaven is managed also shapes its future. Decisions influence the colony’s prosperity and can open up fresh leads, rewards, and unexpected complications in Curse of Resthaven. Three major story routes provide different directions for uncovering the island’s mysteries.

Build Your Deck and Venture Beyond Resthaven

Not every mystery can be solved by talking to people or searching the town. When the investigation reaches a dead end, it’s time to leave Resthaven’s relative safety and explore the island’s dangerous wilderness.

These expeditions use a branching, card-based system. Put together a deck of resources and companion cards before setting out, then face unpredictable encounters and terrifying supernatural creatures along the way. The cards selected before each journey influence how challenges play out, making preparation just as important as the decisions made during an expedition.

Finding traces of Amalia’s journey is only part of the challenge. The island hides forces and creatures that are far more dangerous than anything found within the town walls.

The countdown to disaster never stops. Once the six-day period ends and catastrophe destroys the island at Curse of Resthaven, its weakened guardian sends you back to the beginning, restoring the moment of your arrival while allowing you to retain your memories and experience.

This repeating cycle gives every attempt a new purpose. Permanent skill upgrades can make future runs easier, while the island’s goddess offers temporary blessings with powerful advantages in Curse of Resthaven. However, these gifts often come with serious drawbacks, so accepting one requires careful thought.

As each loop unfolds, more of Resthaven’s history comes to light. The mystery surrounding Amalia, the island’s hidden power, and the groups attempting to control it gradually becomes clearer. Different story routes and randomized expeditions also keep subsequent runs from following exactly the same pattern.
