Rance Arrives in Nippon

After causing plenty of trouble across the Continent, the sword-wielding Rance has made his way to Nippon, a distant eastern nation. Sill, his loyal companion, is with him as the two set their sights on one of Nippon’s famous hot springs.

Things quickly take an unexpected turn. Rance somehow ends up ruling one of the country’s feudal states, but simply holding a position of power is nowhere near enough in Sengoku Rance. His goal is much bigger: more power. With that in mind, Rance sets out to bring Nippon under his control and conquer the entire country.

Every decision can affect the balance between them, while the territories under control must be managed carefully. Players will handle armies, resources, territories, and heroes in a mix of grand strategy and RPG mechanics, with each turn offering new opportunities for expansion, defense, or development.

Build a Domain and Recruit Heroes

Taking control of neighboring territories allows the domain to grow while opening access to additional resources and valuable strategic positions. Expanding too quickly can create new challenges, though, so choosing where to push next becomes an important part of each campaign.

A growing army also needs capable leaders. Dozens of unique heroes can join the cause throughout Sengoku Rance, with each character bringing different abilities, skills, and personal stories. Putting together the right group of characters can make a major difference when dealing with the various challenges ahead.

Battles are fought in turn-based tactical encounters. Commanders and their assigned troops face enemy forces, and the abilities of individual characters can have a noticeable impact on the outcome. Enemy commanders also have their own skills, while different unit and army types add further variety to each fight.

Battles, Dungeons, and Story Decisions

Not every expedition has to focus on enemy armies. Units can also be sent into dungeons to search for useful resources and equipment, giving another way to strengthen the forces and prepare for future battles in Sengoku Rance.

Between encounters, story events unfold according to the progress made throughout the campaign. The territories under control, the way the army has been managed, and the areas already conquered can all influence what happens next.
