Take Control of the Wasteland

The apocalypse is no place for a quiet drive. Take on the wasteland alone or team up with a friend in open-world co-op, extraction runs, and deathmatches in Mad Metal.

Set in America during the 2080s, the world has been overrun by sentient machines created by AI corporations. These machines began making choices no human ever approved at Mad Metal. Their goal isn’t simply to wipe out humanity. Instead, they capture people and use them to create a new half-human, half-machine species meant to take over what remains of the world.

Your wife has been taken. Your daughter is still in their hands. Few humans remain, and you’re still one of them. More importantly, you’re still fighting — and still driving.

Build the Right Machine

Every vehicle part affects the way the machine handles. Weight and aerodynamics matter, so loading up on weapons isn’t always the smartest move. Tune the build for speed, firepower, or a balance between the two in Mad Metal, then adapt as the run continues by grabbing powerful augments that can improve weapons and vehicle performance on the fly.

Combat also puts the action right inside the cabin. Keep an eye on the dashboard in first-person view, check weapon status, and switch tactics when something runs dry. If the main weapon overheats and the secondary is empty, pull out the sidearm and keep the fight going.

Hit Them Where It Hurts

The Dead Aim Targeting System lets time slow down so specific enemy components can be picked apart. Smash through a door to reach the driver, puncture a fuel tank and set off an explosion, or tear apart the wheels to bring an enemy vehicle to a complete stop at Mad Metal.

Every opponent has a vulnerable spot. Finding it can make the difference between escaping a fight and getting left behind in the wasteland.

Boss encounters take things even further. Huge enemies can push a carefully built vehicle to its limits, forcing players to learn their weak points and adjust their approach before taking another shot.

There isn’t just one way to play. Work through the campaign alone, join forces in open-world co-op, or enter extraction runs where surviving long enough to escape with the team is the main goal.
For direct competition, ranked and unranked 1v1 deathmatches put vehicles and builds against each other.
Tactical abilities add another layer to every fight.
Mix active and passive abilities with the chosen loadout to create different ways of approaching combat. Sonar can reveal enemies through walls, caltrops can cripple vehicles, and a jetpack can provide a quick route to higher ground when the battlefield gets crowded.
