Genome Guardian 2 perfectly expands upon the first game, adding tons of new customisation to the tower and allowing for all types of new builds, with some (a tad more) overpowered than others, while still keeping the charm of the original. It also does a great job of changing some of the more lacklustre weapons from the first game, giving them a glow-up or full redesign. Anticipation for the full game release remains high. There is also a clear amount of love and passion going into the game, with extensive playtesting evident throughout, as shown by many tips that reflect exactly what was being thought at the time.

Overall, Genome Guardian 2 is a great game that is recommended to anyone who likes roguelites or bullet heaven games. Having all microbes unlocked in the database should unlock the ability to see which types of microbes are going to spawn in the next wave during the shop. In earlier depths, this would not matter too much, but in depths 6–10, where bosses can show up and weapons can be mutated to address the situation, it becomes much more relevant.
