ForgeTax is a dark first-person roguelite built around forging swords, taking chances, and deciding how far to push a good run.

A Risky Trip to the Anvil
Every strike can raise the value of a blade, but one bad hit can turn that promising weapon into scrap.
The forge belongs to a dragon, and that means every run comes with a price. Swords have to be handed over as tribute if another round at the anvil is going to happen. Fall short, and the creature behind the bars starts getting impatient.

Push Your Luck
Start by heating a blade and placing it on the anvil. Each successful strike can make it worth more, but the risk of shattering grows with every attempt at ForgeTax. It is a simple idea that quickly gets tense when a valuable sword is sitting one hit away from breaking.
Forging the same sword ten times fills the Frenzy meter. Once charged, Frenzy opens a short burst where strikes can keep coming without the usual fear of shattering the blade. It is the perfect chance to go all in and squeeze as much value as possible from the forge.
Spend Swords, Build Combos
Not every sword needs to reach the dragon. The relic machine can consume blades in exchange for strange and powerful effects, creating combinations that can completely change how a run plays out.
The catch is obvious: every sword used on a relic is one less sword available for tribute. Relics can improve draw tickets, combine unusual effects, and turn a few useful bonuses into something far more valuable. Builds can revolve around luck, or they can change the rules of luck altogether.

Features of ForgeTax:
- The Dragon Still Wants Its Share
- When the time comes, place the swords on the counter and ring the bell. Meet the required tribute and earn another chance to return to the anvil in ForgeTax. Miss the payment, though, and the mood on the other side of the bars changes quickly.
- That makes every decision matter. Hold onto a blade for its potential, sacrifice it for a relic, or stop forging before greed turns a good run into a disaster. The forge can make a fortune, but the next swing can take everything away.
- Pay the dragon. Keep forging. Plan the revenge.
