Fallen Tear: The Ascension offers a modern take on the classic JRPG adventure formula while keeping the freedom associated with Metroidvanias.

Explore a World on the Brink
Raoah is a vast high-fantasy world filled with forgotten civilizations, hidden routes, and places that have long since been abandoned. At the center of it all is Hira, a mysterious child born with the dark element and destined to face ancient gods.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension blends the party-focused storytelling of classic JRPGs with open-ended Metroidvania exploration and a hint of souls-like difficulty. The choices made along the way matter, especially when it comes to the allies brought into the journey.
Strange Seed PC (Build 23860441)
More than 10 interconnected regions are waiting to be explored, from dense forests to ruined cities and forgotten structures. There are six main bosses to take on, along with three optional encounters. The Early Access version also includes the story’s entire playable opening act.
A Hand-Drawn JRPG Adventure
The world of Raoah has a distinctive hand-drawn look, supported by detailed animation and full professional voice acting. Exploration is rarely just about reaching the next area. Hidden paths, environmental challenges, and secrets can turn a familiar-looking location into something worth investigating.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension also brings a classic JRPG-style party system into its Metroidvania structure. Through the Fated Bonds system, Hira can build relationships with mages, swordsmen, tricksters, healers, and other characters. There are 22 allies to meet, each offering their own abilities, sidequests, and personal stories.
These companions are more than additional characters on the roster. Their skills can help with both combat and exploration, giving different bonds a practical role throughout the adventure.
Build a Fighting Style That Fits
Combat is fast and demands attention. Hira can slash, parry, and dodge attacks while switching weapons and items during the fight. A wide selection of skills and abilities also makes it possible to adjust the character’s setup for different situations in Fallen Tear: The Ascension.
Learning enemy patterns becomes especially important during tougher encounters. Rather than relying on one strategy, battles encourage quick adjustments, whether that means changing equipment, exploiting a weakness, or waiting for the right opening.
The same approach carries into the boss fights. Raoah’s guardians can hit hard, so choosing the right abilities and allies can make a major difference. Defeating them gradually reveals more about Hira’s mysterious past and brings the story closer to its answers.
