Create Dresses Your Way

Pick the material, plan the design, cut each piece, and sew everything together. Customer requests can lead to some genuinely lovely creations—or a little mischief if sabotage sounds more fun.

The whole process is hands-on. Choose where each piece of fabric goes, decide how patterns are positioned, and see those choices reflected in the finished garment in Dressmaker.

From Fabric to Finished Outfit

Start with a broad selection of materials, from cotton and linen to wool, silk, and velvet. Use a sketchbook to plan the colours and overall look, then add fabric swatches and appliqué to bring the idea together.

Pattern placement matters, too. Align a piece with the grain or cut it on the bias, then arrange the pattern before cutting the fabric at Dressmaker. Each decision affects how the finished dress looks.

Once the pieces are ready, run them through the sewing machine and stitch the garment together. The machine comes with an endless bobbin, so there’s no need to worry about running out of thread halfway through a project.

Add the Finishing Touches

There’s plenty of room for personal style after the main garment is sewn. Add buttons, bows, lace, appliqué, and other accessories wherever they fit the design. The decorating tools give plenty of freedom to experiment and make each dress feel different.

A mannequin lets you preview your creations before they are finished, making it easier to check the overall look and make changes along the way.
