Crawling Angels is a physics-based puzzle game with horror and sandbox elements. Utilize a variety of tools and equipment.

Interact with the Forever Chicken, a living ragdoll at the center of a mysterious midnight carnival.Smash and thrash the mysterious Forever Chicken, a living ragdoll at the heart of a frightful Midnight Carnival. Uncle Tontine insists you can leave whenever you desire, yet no child has ever gone home. Will you be the first? Under the watchful eye of Uncle Tontine, speak in whispers with other children whisked away from their homes and uncover the wriggling and writhing truth behind this nocturnal place. It has a rich, unique story that explores the consequences of guilt, even when that guilt is undeserved. The puzzle and story elements are well balanced.
Reading up on Albert Camus adds some interesting context (especially in relation to one particular quote and Crawling Angels’s themes). Speaking of Tontine, the voice actor for Uncle Tontine did a phenomenal job of making him feel tangible and memorable. It really stands out. Back to the story, it’s hard not to worry about the other child protagonists too, given their own hurts and feelings of guilt. The story of Crawling Angels never explicitly spells out what most of them are dealing with, but it seems they’re all carrying some kind of emotional wound. It’s refreshing that this isn’t explained outright, leaving room for players to exercise their critical thinking.
The writing is so well done that it becomes easy to feel invested in everyone’s well-being. Back to guilt—the funniest thing about guilt as an emotion is that some of the worst criminals in human history feel none at all. Isn’t that the biggest irony? Here are children burdened with overwhelming guilt despite being largely innocent, while serial killers, CEOs, and war mongers can feel nothing. It’s an interesting thought to sit with alongside Crawling Angels’s central theme. This game includes Violence toward animate and inanimate plush dolls. Depiction of painless self-mutilation by a minor.
Depictions of angelic parasitism, including that of a minor. Death of minors via rapid mutation. Death of a minor via magical lightning. Depictions of human corpses, including the corpses of minors, at various stages of decay. Interactive animal carrion and human corpses. Depiction and use of firearms by a minor. Implied cannibalism. A fully destructible, interactive heretical offshoot of the Holy Bible. Mention of a real-life hate group. Depictions of real-life occult symbols. Violence toward a deformed humanoid creature. Depictions of cigarettes and empty alcohol containers. Violence toward insects. Discussion of inappropriate contact between minors. A single curse word.
