A Different Kind of Spellcasting

Magic is art, and The Magus Circle puts that idea right at the center of its gameplay. It is not about making perfect drawings either. Even rough-looking symbols can still produce powerful magic.

The story throws players into a cosmic conflict they never asked to be part of. Magic is under attack, and with the situation already falling apart, there is little choice but to try and set things right. The job is to protect humanity’s greatest ally, the Magus Circle, while uncovering what is really going on behind the scenes.

Along the way, other mages join the adventure. Each one brings their own abilities, skill trees, and personal problems to the table. There are also plenty of secrets waiting inside the Circle and its manor.

Draw, Cast, Survive

Spellcasting is handled directly through drawing. Players create arcane symbols themselves before using them to cast spells, giving combat a more active feel than simply selecting abilities from a menu.

There are 20 different spells to work with, and those spells can be developed through 600 possible upgrades. That leaves plenty of room for experimenting with different builds and finding combinations that fit a preferred playstyle.

Progression Beyond Combat

There is more to the game than surviving one battle after another. Progression includes unlocking familiars, taking chances with your winnings, brewing potions, tending a garden, and exploring other activities between fights.

The manor also acts as a place to slow things down. Getting to know the other mages and searching through the Circle gradually reveals more about its history and the secrets surrounding it.

When fate comes knocking, the question is whether the door gets opened.
