STAR WARS Zero Company PC (P2P-Final)

The story puts Hawks, a former Republic officer, at the head of Zero Company. The squad is pulled into a dangerous operation against a growing threat that, if left alone, could spread across the galaxy and bring catastrophic consequences in STAR WARS Zero Company.

Lead some of the galaxy’s most capable operatives through tactical missions, investigations, and intense combat encounters, all tied together by a cinematic original story.

Every decision matters. Strategy comes into play both at your base and out on the battlefield, where conditions can change and force a different approach. The choices made along the way can shape each playthrough, giving the campaign plenty of room to play out differently.

Your squad can include a wide mix of characters and roles, from shady scoundrels and dependable astromechs to a Jedi. Each operative brings different tactical abilities to the table, so building the right team and knowing when to use each skill can turn a tough fight around.

Characters also become stronger through repeated missions. As squad members gain experience and learn how to fight alongside one another, they unlock combat synergies that can make a huge difference when battles get particularly rough.

Hawks can be customized in both appearance and combat specialization, while the rest of the team can be built around original and custom-created Star Wars characters. Appearance, equipment, abilities, and loadouts can all be adjusted to suit different approaches to combat.

Review Highlights

  • The XCOM-style combat hits a nice difficulty level. Wins often feel hard-earned, like the squad only just managed to pull through.
  • The base is genuinely enjoyable to return to. There is plenty to upgrade, but the characters around it are just as much of a reason to spend time there. Several of them are surprisingly well written and interesting.
  • There is a good amount of optional content, including what essentially amounts to loyalty missions, along with quests, sidequests, operations with branching choices, and additional missions. Completing everything in a single playthrough does not seem realistic, which gives future runs some extra appeal.
  • Performance and visuals are both impressive. STAR WARS Zero Company runs beautifully on a 3080 and has also been tested at 1440p on the Steam Machine. It is much rougher on Steam Deck, where performance can get quite choppy, but it remains playable. These impressions come from a pre-Day Zero build, and the screenshots give a good idea of how sharp STAR WARS Zero Company can look.
  • Character customization is extensive and genuinely fun. There is plenty of room to give every squad member a distinct look.
  • Weapon modifications, power setups, and specialization choices offer a lot to experiment with, especially for anyone who enjoys digging into different character builds.

At its core, STAR WARS Zero Company™ feels like a modern spin on the XCOM formula, made by many of the same people who worked on that series after founding Bit Reactor. Around eight hours into the campaign, there is already enough here to make STAR WARS Zero Company an easy recommendation.

Performance is smooth, the visuals look great, and the starting roster includes eight classes, with additional options becoming available later. Between character customization, weapon modifications, and multiple build paths, there is a lot of freedom in how the squad develops.

Features of STAR WARS Zero Company:

  • The difficulty also feels well judged. Hard mode demands careful decisions before committing to a move, without turning every encounter into a frustrating slog. There is an even tougher difficulty setting that has not been tested yet, as well as an Ironman mode for players who want the consequences to stick.
  • One of the more interesting additions is the Advantage system. Players familiar with Midnight Suns may recognize the general idea: the squad shares a meter that can be spent on class abilities. These skills feel powerful without being mindless button presses, so choosing the right moment to use them matters.
  • Sometimes the answer is sending a sharpshooter after a specific enemy sitting far across the map. Other times, the situation has gone completely sideways and the Soldier needs to fire a rocket into a cluster of enemies before the squad gets overwhelmed in STAR WARS Zero Company.
  • Those abilities generally hit the sweet spot at STAR WARS Zero Company. They have a noticeable effect on the battle, and pulling off the right move at exactly the right moment is just as satisfying as it should be.
