In Legion Was Here, every mission comes with a new identity to steal and a tricky situation to survive. Get into a series of strange assignments for clients you wouldn’t normally expect to meet at Legion Was Here. The goal is simple: fool the right people without getting caught.
Playing as Legion, a secret agent with the ability to change his appearance at will, means taking on jobs from agencies around the world. Getting close to a target requires more than a convincing disguise, though. Sometimes, the best way in is to become someone they know and trust, whether that’s a husband, brother, son, or another familiar face.
One wrong answer or suspicious detail can ruin everything. And in this line of work, failure can be fatal.
Build the Right Face for Every Mission
Legion’s transformation room lets you adjust almost every aspect of his appearance. Change his age, hairstyle, nose, eye color, and plenty of other features until the disguise matches the person you’re supposed to be in Legion Was Here.
With over 900 million possible appearance combinations, there’s plenty of room to experiment. Finding the right look is part of the challenge, and even small details can make the difference between blending in and raising suspicion.
Investigate the Evidence and Play Your Part
Before each assignment, a dossier provides the information needed to impersonate the chosen target. Letters, documents, and seemingly unimportant objects all help piece together the identity you’re taking over. Pay attention to everything, because even something as ordinary as a chocolate bar wrapper might hold a useful clue.
Once the disguise is ready, it’s time to meet the target. Looking the part gets Legion through the door, but earning someone’s trust is a different challenge altogether. Dialogue sequences inspired by visual novels put acting skills to the test through multiple-choice conversations, where the wrong response can expose the whole operation.
The dossier becomes an essential reference during these encounters. Handwritten notes on Legion’s left hand also help keep important details close at hand when the pressure starts to build.
Not every client comes from a familiar intelligence agency like the FBI or MI6. Some jobs involve much stranger characters, including ghosts from the past and amusement park mascots. In this world, just about anyone can hire Legion, and the assignments rarely follow the same formula.

Features of Legion Was Here:
- A playthrough takes around 3–4 hours, with a varied collection of missions that keeps things interesting from one assignment to the next.
- There is also a reason to revisit completed missions. Each one can be replayed to improve the final score, with 100% serving as the mark of a truly convincing performance. Anything less suggests that some detail could have been handled better.
- However, repeating a mission doesn’t guarantee an identical experience. Events and encounters can unfold differently each time, so previous knowledge won’t always be enough to pull off a perfect impersonation.
- Legion Was Here was developed entirely by a single creator, with one exception: the saxophone was played by a friend named Pierre. Legion Was Here was also made without using AI, giving this unusual spy adventure a distinctly personal touch.
