Driveclub is a racing game developed by Evolution Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4.

Driveclub: An Overview of the Racing Game
The game was first revealed at Sony’s PlayStation 4 press conference on February 20, 2013. Several delays pushed back its launch, but it eventually arrived with a strong focus on competitive racing, team play, and realistic driving environments.

One of the game’s most enjoyable features is its club system, which lets players create their own teams or join existing ones. Each club can have up to six members, and everyone contributes to its progress by taking part in races and completing challenges. Competing against rival clubs adds another layer of competition, with players working together to build their team’s reputation and prove themselves on the track.
Game Modes and Racing Challenges
Driveclub offers three main modes: Tour, Single Event, and Multiplayer. Tour serves as the game’s campaign, featuring a series of single-player events across different locations. Players use assigned cars to complete races and meet specific objectives along the way. It provides a structured way to experience the game and gradually work through its challenges.
Single Event mode gives players more control over how they race. They can choose between standard races, sprint events, drift challenges, and time trials, then select their preferred track, weather conditions, and other settings. Championship tournaments add further competition, while optional objectives encourage players to improve their performance during events.
Multiplayer focuses on both teamwork and head-to-head competition. Players can enter online races, take on challenges, compare results through social leaderboards, and represent their clubs against other teams. Driving well and completing objectives earns Fame and experience points (XP), helping players increase their individual level and their club’s overall standing.
Cars, Customization, and Progression
Progress in Driveclub is closely tied to the Fame system. Successful driving and completed challenges earn Fame, which contributes to player and club levels. As levels increase, new rewards become available automatically, including vehicles, accolades, and additional paint schemes. Since every member’s performance affects the club’s progress, working together can be just as rewarding as winning individual races.
The game launched with 50 cars, with more than 60 additional vehicles available through the PlayStation Store, either for free or as paid downloads. Cars fall into five categories based on their in-game performance: Hot Hatch, Sports, Performance, Super, and Hyper. Each vehicle can also be personalized with different paint jobs and stickers, giving players plenty of ways to create a look that suits their style. Drivers and clubs can be customized as well.
