Temptation’s Price – Episode 1 is an 18+ text-based visual novel set in a semi-open world. Emma is at the center of the story, surrounded by politics.

Choices
They can either help her career or completely derail her life. Players choose what to chase, while the story determines where those decisions eventually lead.
Temptation’s Price – Episode 1 uses a kinetic-style visual novel format, but meaningful choices play a major role. The main story moves at a steady, atmospheric pace, with important decision points appearing along the way. Those branches can have a real effect on how the story ends.
The 3D artwork is originally created in DAZ Studio and then put through a post-processing stage using neural networks. This adds more detail, improves textures, and gives the visuals their distinctive look. Neural networks are also used to partially animate otherwise static scenes. The creative direction, scene composition, and writing remain entirely human-made.
The beginning
It works particularly well because the story stays focused on Emma. Visual novels tend to become less convincing when the player starts controlling several different characters and deciding exactly what each of them says. For example, when Justin arrives at the bar with Emma, taking control of Justin’s dialogue feels unnecessary and takes away from the scene in Temptation’s Price – Episode 1. It could work much better if Emma’s actions or observations had some influence over events that had already taken place, eventually leading into the dance.
This becomes more noticeable later in the novel when Tyler also becomes a playable character. There seems to be a little too much of Tyler’s story as well. A more interesting approach would be to keep Emma as the main perspective and let her gradually pick up clues about what Tyler is doing. Those discoveries could then connect back to Emma’s own actions and choices, making his storyline feel more relevant to her.

Features of Temptation’s Price – Episode 1:
- The relationships are generally one of the stronger parts of the novel. They feel like they have been given actual thought instead of simply being built around sexual encounters. Emma’s relationship with her boss, in particular, has an interesting twist, and there is plenty of potential for that dynamic to develop further at Temptation’s Price – Episode 1.
- There may not be room for something this specific in the current story, but a female-protagonist novel with an abusive heterosexual/bisexual dynamic involving a female boss would be an unusual direction. The boss could use Emma as leverage, pressure her into unwanted intimate situations, and exploit the power imbalance between them. In some scenes, the boss could deliberately cross personal boundaries and use Emma’s reactions as another way to assert control.
- The dynamic could become even more psychologically focused without turning it into a genuine romantic or lesbian relationship in Temptation’s Price – Episode 1. For example, the boss might discover one of Emma’s intimate items and use that knowledge against her, or become interested in the sense of power that comes from knowing she can influence Emma’s private reactions.
- That would keep the relationship abusive and manipulative rather than turning it into a conventional romance, while giving the boss a stronger and more distinctive role in Emma’s story.
