Korea. IL-2 Series strikes a nice balance between realistic flight mechanics and accessibility. Whether the goal is to master aerial combat, fly historically accurate aircraft, or take charge of an entire air regiment, there is plenty to explore. It also introduces full gamepad support to the IL-2 series for the first time, alongside traditional joysticks and HOTAS setups.

Fly Historically Accurate Aircraft Across a Vast Battlefield

Every aircraft in Korea has been recreated using original blueprints, historical photographs, flight manuals, and other archival sources. The result is a collection of eight aircraft, each designed to reflect its real-world counterpart.

Note: The La-11 and F-84E Thunderjet are included in the Premium and Deluxe editions. They can also be purchased separately as DLC.

Cockpit details receive the same attention. Every instrument works and displays the current condition of the aircraft’s systems in real time at Korea. IL-2 Series. Aerial combat feels closely tied to the equipment available to pilots around 75 years ago, from lining up a target to firing the guns at just the right moment.

Take Part in the War or Command an Entire Regiment

The Home by Christmas campaign follows Captain Jack Russell, who secures a transfer to a combat unit in 1950 with the ambition of becoming a jet ace in Korea. IL-2 Series. His story unfolds through 15 historically grounded missions based on combat records from the 8th Fighter-Bomber Wing and the personal accounts of its pilots.

The campaign also captures some of the practical difficulties faced during the opening months of the war. Early jets could not use the smaller forward airstrips available to piston-engine aircraft, forcing some pilots to return temporarily to older machines. As a result, missions include flights in both the F-51 Mustang and the F-80 Shooting Star.

Realistic Damage, Detailed Models, and Immersive Features

Combat damage is handled with a detailed system that covers aircraft and ground targets alike in Korea. IL-2 Series. Strategic bombers, military vehicles, trains, and ships respond to hits according to where and how they are struck. Collisions and crashes also account for factors such as mass, speed, and impact location, affecting the damaged object’s behavior and potentially changing the outcome of a fight.
