We Know the Devil PC Game 2016 review:
This game definitely stands out from the visual novels: it is first of all pleasantly strange and disturbing, mysterious and poetic, but not overwhelming the player with an avalanche of incomprehensible metaphors, interestingly presenting teenage experiences of queers.
After understanding, WKD has actually been launched on the PC platform for 15 years, and then landed on STEAM through the Light of Favor, and now it is officially on sale. It has received overwhelming praise since the time of Favored Light, but unfortunately, many comments just scribbled [nice] or [awesome] without specifying the reason for the praise. Therefore, we can only talk about our own feelings through the current game experience of more than 1 hour. If you are interested, please really experience it.
Although this game has been labeled as a “horror-themed visual novel”, the style of the trailer that was released earlier is also closer to horror, especially the devil in the name, but… through actual experience, we have to say that we may have misunderstood what devil is referring to, and this is not a visual novel with shock as a gimmick. Pros of We Know the Devil:
- a climate between teenage sorrows and a theological creepypasta;
- graphic style: pleasing to the eye, matching the history and distinguishing itself from other visual novels;
- dialogues reflect well the experiences of teenagers learning their identity and expressing feelings;
- little things painting the bizarre world presented;
- complementary endings.
