We have not seen any of that in Vomitoreum or not well carried out. The experience, still divided into different areas with its own artistic themes, is much more linear than it seems. Backtracking is an optional and avoidable mechanic, and unlockable mechanics don’t become part of the player’s experience for much more than a few minutes. They function as limited-use keys and there is no more boring type of skill than that comparable to a key. The few unlockables that you will use for the whole experience are weapons and even they have their misfortune. In this game, the ammunition is infinite and the weapons differ more in terms of statistics than performance.

We are one of the people who helped finance this video game through Kickstarter, the campaign has followed an optimal course and the result has exceeded the expectations of a project with so few resources. We are very happy with our game and have enjoyed following the developer emails as much as the afternoon we spent playing it. However, not all promises have been equally fulfilled but we think this is the Metroidvania that many people expected.
