Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD PC Game 2003 review:
This is a simulation video game of skateboarding that allows the player to play skateboard in an urban universe recreated in 3D and a rock and hip-hop atmosphere.
The player embodies various famous skaters and must perform skate figures ( slide, grab) or missions such as object collections. The game offers several game modes including a career mode, a free mode, a single session mode, a multiplayer mode. The career mode allows us to evolve the capacities of the characters or their equipment. Each level proposes different objectives to be carried out like the achievement of challenges, particular skate figures, obtaining the best score, or the collection of items scattered in the levels. The levels can be urban or competition type in skateparks. The multiplayer mode allows several games like Graffiti, Trick Attack, or Horse. The ports are generally very faithful, except the Game Boy Color version which offers two significantly different types of gameplay.
Pros of Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD:
- Neversoft quickly creates a prototype skateboard game and begins watching skate videos to study the movements and style of famous skaters, believing that authenticity would be required to legitimize the concept.
- Neversoft takes a different perspective from the competition, taking a skateboarding approach in a very arcade-oriented game, in the spirit of snowboarding games like Cool Boarders.
- Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding allows you to direct a character who skates in a third-person view with a fixed camera.
