Sucker for Love: Date to Die For PC Game 2024 review:
Put the ‘affection’ in ‘Lovecraftian loathsomeness!’
(v1.30 Update added)
Stay away from the over-the-top cultists and endure risky ceremonies to get away from the Dark Woods with your life in this 90’s anime-roused visual book! While exploring the strange vanishings tormenting your provincial old neighborhood of Sacramen-Cho, you end up grabbing yourself! Caught in the obscurity heart of the labyrinthian woods, you’re main get away rests inside the pages of the cultists’ weird purple spellbook in Sucker for Love: Date to Die For.
In the midst of the scrawlings of lunatics and pictures of extraordinary plagues, a section depicts how to gather The Dark Goat of the Forest — Rhok’zan. The remainder of the town is by all accounts under the bondage of Rhok’zan’s all-consuming air of adoration, yet for reasons unknown, you feel… unique. Might you at any point getaway, or will you meet your end at the incalculable hands of The Thousand? There is a Nostalgic workmanship style suggestive of old-school anime and exemplary dating sims! No loathsomeness components this time, we swear. Come on, trust us haha. The art style is as vibrant as ever and the overall VHS anime aesthetic in this game was presented quite well.
The soundtrack is great, the voiced songs especially were wonderful in every style they aimed at. Gameplay’s quite enjoyable and I think this was miles better than the first one in this regard, I felt challenged but there never was a difficulty spike that was too steep for me, nothing that took the fun out of the experience. Last but not least, the story was cute af (even considered the bad endings, Stardust was really funny and Rhok’zan hit that perfect spot for this kind of waifus, I really loved them. Muu’s best girl tho.
