Striving for Light Survival Free Download (Early Access)

Experience the mysterious world of Striving for Light as an arena survival game, combining the exploration of random generated skill trees and exciting auto battle combat. Striving for Light: Survival is a standalone arena survival game originated from Striving for Light. We wanted to create a different player experience with a new combat and progression system. Both games can be played independently.

Striving for Light Survival (SoLS) is a spin-off of the devs rather unsuccessful Striving for Light. Rather than being a foreboding weakness, this however has proven to be the game’s strength – by offering a great amount of variety, content and complex, yet fleshed out systems taken from its big brother.

SoLS is a wave-based (think: Brotato) reverse bullet-hell game, that gives you the option to select one melee weapon, one ranged weapon, one character and a set of special nodes per run. After each wave you are offered 2~3 upgrades in a procedurally generated Path of Exile-style skilltree. The minor nodes (attack speed, range, etc.) are influenced by your choice of weapons (e.g., having a primary dagger will spawn more attack speed nodes), whereas the major nodes are taken from your pre-game node selection. To not make specialization too easy, there is a minimum amount of nodes to select (or to be filled randomly if you prefer). Your choice of character mainly changes your base-stats to ease the start of your run, though some also offer unique gameplay.
