Clearly, it was worth the wait for Wormwood Studios ’new game, Strangeland. In addition to the great pictorial realization, we get an allegorical story full of metaphors, with a very serious theme.

This, in turn, should not scare anyone back. Once again, the melancholic act has become a teaching character, according to which, in addition to darkness and dark things, there is always a light somewhere, into which we can exit at any time by learning from our mistakes. Strangeland is trying to teach us exactly that, and it does it all in the smoothest way possible. If you can, be sure to give him a chance.
A wonderfully streamlined adventure game. we don’t feel like it lasted as long as Primordia, but that’s probably because we spent less time getting stuck at parts. Not to say it’s a breeze to play, but it definitely flowed better in our experience. The subject matter is 100% meta-narrative; choosing instead to tell a story within the protagonist’s psyche, and making reference to real-world events that it chooses not to elaborate upon. It’s an interesting approach and a breath of fresh air for adventure game enthusiasts.

- Integrated, in-character hint system (optional, of course)
- Breathtaking pixel art in twice Primordia‘s resolution (640×360—party like it’s 1999!)
