Star Wars lore has never been more curated than in Kotor, a seemingly old school RPG in the combat system, which has its roots in the already beloved D&D system in Baldur’s Gate.

Statistics, specializations and luck in dice count, not the player’s reflexes as in more action-oriented titles. We will manage a party consisting of 3 characters (including us), complete with a tactical break. So the pre-fight phase will be fundamental to set the moves but don’t expect the deep tactics and the combination of moves between the different characters achieved in Baldur’s Gate or in D.A.O. for 2 factors. The first is that the title is structured in such a way that the player takes care of his character more than anything else and the computer takes care of the others 2.
Pros of STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic:
- There are a lot of good memories of this game.
- Character creation allows stat customizations right from the get-go, and goes the extra mile by adding a ‘recommended’ button that offers balanced numbers based on class; a useful feature for beginners
- Very even and agreeable pace throughout the entirety of the game; never felt too fast, slow, or interspersed with filler content
- Excellent, marvelous soundtrack; really keeps you in the game, and does well to make this title feel true to the franchise
