You can create horizontal school shooters such as Gradius and Darius from vertical scroll shooters such as Raiden and Master King. You can configure everything, from the behavior of enemies to weapon patterns, the frequency of fire, the appearance of enemies.

SHMUP Creator allows you to create and build your own shoot ’em up. This tool is easy to use and powerful enough for more experienced users. Thanks to the included assets you can start right away to have fun! It is nice that shmup creator may fill the void of development tool specifically for shooting game. Very neat to create your own game, though some functions are still in lack, such as player speed shift, one-key flip and shoot as in Deathsmiles, player bullet which allows deflection along with joy stick etc, the tool itself is cool and has potential.
There are tons of parameters for every assets. Bullets, explosions and particles have their dedicated editors. An option called “trigger” allows you to initiate various actions and behaviours when and where you want, and does increase the density of the gameplay. You’re be able to test your game in the quite intuitive editor itself (with all the informations displayed such as icons and paths to help you to modify and debug “ingame”) or without the editor to see how the game looks. And for testing the project with menus and levels, you need to build a stand-alone version, one click and voilà! Very easy.
