The Violet Archive was set up to record the development in the region, and is looking for researchers to aid its cause! The Violet Archive needs your help! Discover and record plants and creatures at various locations around Shimmerbrook, and contribute your findings to the Archive. Grow crops, learn about the conditions they thrive in, and plan your farm layout accordingly! Raise creatures and meet their needs! In turn, your creatures will give you perks to help you with farming and exploration.

Research Story is a very cute pixel art farming simulator. You learn how to care for plants and animals by researching them to learn what they need to thrive. The art style reminds me of old school Pokemon and some of the music does as well. Each plant and animal (as far as I’ve seen) requires you to research it in three different ways before you learn everything about it. Some crops die in the rain unless they’re near a lamp for example and animals require different enclosures and diets. You are able to craft a lot of things you need and the crafting style is a mix of the crafting mechanics in Stardew Valley and Minecraft.
