Because memories may be changed, the present can also be changed. Take on brain-bending riddles that need you to change your own memories in order to influence the future.
In RE:CALL you play through the memories of the character you’re controlling. Your actions inside these flashbacks have immediate consequences in the present moment, letting you take advantage of the situation in order to progress the story. Tackle mind-bending puzzles that rely on altering your own memories to shape the future.
This was a fun gem of a game to come across! Has a really clever core premise – solving puzzles by changing memories that affect the present day. Re:Call uses that concept in a ton of creative ways, I was always looking forward to the next one! It’s a shame it’s not utilized as much in the second half of the game, though there are still fun puzzle segments with new mechanics in the latter half. My game crash did crash on one occasion, but thankfully replaying chapters isn’t too bad with how quickly the text scrolls and how fast replaying puzzles goes once you know the solutions.
