Quake II RTX is an Action, Adventure, and Shooter game for PC published by NVIDIA in 2021. Is Ray Tracing in old games really good?
Quake II RTX PC Game 2021 review:
Well, we were able to try out this technology that is Ray Tracing, and it’s really very different, and it’s literally more beautiful and realistic, even for an old game like Quake II, it was really cool, it even made us want to play it again haha.
(v1.8.0 Update added)
Although we also found the performance issue a little frustrating, because it needs to be optimized for this new technology that is Ray Tracing, which is complicated because as it’s an old game we even imagined that the FPS would be like above 60 quietly, but that’s not the case, the FPS was around 58, 47 (sometimes we managed to keep the 65, 78, 80FPS), but if you improve it, it can make the performance more pleasant if you know what we mean, why not it makes sense for an older game like Quake to run at ”55FPS” and Battlefield V to run at 60, 70FPS with Ray Tracing active.
Another curious fact is that this game is not on your steam account, even if you try the original, in our opinion, it should register on the account, but that’s ok. In our case we already have all of the Quake franchise, because we played a lot when we were a kid, we do because we still play today and for collection and nostalgia, as well as Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein, HeXen, Blood, etc…
