Perfection! The Saturn version of Powerslave is one of our all-time favorites – the lighting, Lobotomy’s special sauce with camera “bounciness” along with the Metroidvania elements and excellent sound – it’s all seared into our memory. This port is heaven-sent – it maintains all that we love about the Saturn version but includes the PS1 stuff! The slight differences are adding up in a big way and we can’t believe how well the game holds up. we especially appreciate the thoughtful visual settings that give us all the expected improvements as well as the option to make it look exactly like we remember it. Having replayed the game via Saturn emulation fairly recently, possibly the most substantial improvement is the controls – the game feels amazing to play.
Very well-made remaster. Really hard to know where to go if you’re new to this game. But equally rewarding once you progress through the game.
