Onion Assault is a side-scrolling platformer where the primary way to defeat enemies is by pulling Onions from the ground and then throwing said Onions at your foes. It’s a very simple premise, and the execution is great. It controls well, the music is catchy, the level design is tight, and the visuals are stylistically simple and easy on the eye. we heard about this game in an article by Nintendo Life 2 months ago, and were pleasantly surprised to hear of a title that’s primary “gimmick” was directly inspired by the American version of Super Mario Bros 2. Most developers would stick to the standard Mario formula, so it’s nice to see Hörberg Productions stepping outside of the norm!
