A fantastic point-and-click adventure with great visuals and music, a gripping plot, well-designed puzzles, and above all, exceptionally strong writing and characters.
Alan Goldberg is a frustrated slasher movie screenwriter in the Hollywood of 1985 who feels his career is at a standstill. Still, his luck is about to change: Helen Westmore, an eccentric millionaire, will grant him anything he could wish for if he is able to find genius horror director Edward Keller’s last, unpublished work, which is said to be the scariest film of all time.
Alan will find his way amongst B-films production companies, VFX workshops, religious cults, and a small haunted town called Serena, the dark reputation of which began when Keller was last seen there. Nightmare Frames is an excellent story-focus point&click. With a true knack for characters and dialogues, the developer involves us in an exciting thriller where we follow the (mis)adventures of Alan, a writer of 80’s horror movies. Along with the game, we get to like Alan, initially a bit disgusting personality, and really like him and other good-written characters like the Serena sheriff.
