A lovely fishing adventure with an impressive conclusion. Assumes 2-3 hours to complete if you’re not going for a 100% run, and at least 2x time that if you are (betting on your chance and fishing talents.)
Lake Ophelia. A strange little place is full of fish from all around the world. Nobody is quite sure why, and it seems like most people don’t really care to find out. Go ahead, sink your lure and see what you can catch. In Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia you play as a young kid who has decided to fish at the titular Lake Ophelia. You’ll find yourself simply fishing the day away and trading in those fish for either a yummy meal or some new gear.
You’ve got a fishing hole, a day/night cycle, a shop, and cooking. The game starts up with a content warning, allowing you to opt into knowing what the warning is about. This warning casts the strangest uncertain haze over your fishing trip. this game nails nearly everything right on its low-poly head, and will hopefully act as much of an inspiration to current devs working in the PSX style as much as it was to us.
we have small complaints that are very easily overlooked since this game is in early access, but our biggest concern is that “flashing images” are listed in the optional trigger/content warnings. that definitely seems like something that everyone should be aware of, especially considering how many people should enjoy this as blindly as possible
