we’ve never played the very first Myst. So far we only knew Exile and Revelation from the series, both of which we really liked. That’s why the first two parts have been on our to-do list for a long time. When Myst and Riven came out, we weren’t even born. That was also one of the reasons why we hadn’t caught up with them yet. There was great concern that the games were very good in their time, but that they wouldn’t work for us over 25 years later. But recently we wanted to know it ourselves and looked through the different versions. we noticed this new edition. That looks really good! So we put it on our wish list and waited for the release.

we really weren’t disappointed! At first, we were surprised by how extensive the game is. That must have been huge back then! we especially liked the game world and how the puzzles are integrated into it. Together with the beautiful optics, the great soundtrack, and the appropriate noises, there is a real atmosphere. we found the puzzles themselves fair and motivating, the story interesting and technically everything went perfectly for us. At no point did we have the feeling of playing an old game, which speaks for the original, but also for the good implementation of this new edition. we had a really good time and we can only recommend it!
