Surrounded by nature, you’ll start with an old house that needs plenty of attention. Clear the yard, tidy up the property, grow your own food, and slowly turn the place into a comfortable home where you can live more independently.

The seasons also bring their own atmosphere and activities. Spring is a good time to enjoy the cherry blossoms, while summer brings local festivals. When autumn arrives, roasted sweet potatoes fit the mood perfectly. Winter is quieter, with temple bells in the distance before the traditional first shrine visit of the New Year.

Self-Sufficiency: Hard Work, Great Rewards

Rice is one of the most important sources of food in Japan, while staples such as salt, soy sauce, and miso are essential parts of everyday cooking.

Out in the countryside, many things that would normally be bought in a city have to be prepared by hand. That becomes a big part of the experience.

The adventure begins with the protagonist leaving the city behind and starting a quiet, solitary life in an old countryside house.

There is plenty to do from the very beginning. Start by removing the weeds that have taken over the property, clean the dusty floors, and repair the damaged shoji paper screens. By the end of the tutorial, the basic routines of village life will already be familiar.

Daily trading is also part of the routine. Every morning, an elderly woman comes by with everyday necessities for sale. In the afternoon, a man arrives to purchase items that are no longer needed.

Buy what the village requires, sell extra goods, gather useful materials, and keep working toward the items needed to complete your missions. Little by little, the neglected house and surrounding village begin to feel like a proper home.
