Garten of Banban II really speaks to the human experience itself. It is a metaphysical unravelling of not just what it means to exist but what it means to live. The fundamentals of the lore are clearly inspired by the Hegelian dialectic; this game has an excellent perspective on the existentialist view of morality. Furthermore, the game is a perfect example of a gesamtkunstwerk as it excels in gameplay, storytelling and theme. I give the main protagonist my top 7, the main antagonist my top 9, the story my top 4 and gameplay top 2; overall this is in my top 6 pieces of media of all time, narrowly beating out Beethoven’s
