In a nutshell, Fishing North Atlantic places the cursor on the simulation side rather than the arcade. In “Mission” mode, it is impossible to do a “fast trip”, and it takes several hours to get from point A to point B, with the ocean as the only backdrop. You will need to properly manage your fuel, your fatigue, that of your crew, and the condition of your equipment before each outing. It is professional fishing and not a small leisure outing. Fortunately, to pass the time, the excellent “Simulator Radio” will keep you company, in dry weather or rainy.
Pros of Fishing North Atlantic:
- Graphically very nice and interesting
- Lot’s of options. There are quite a few boats, each one able to conduct different types of operations. Some are specialized but some are do-it-alls.
- Simple to pick up. There’s not a lot of complex mechanics to the game so it’s fairly easy to just pick up and play.
- Crew skills level to complete tasks better. Pretty quickly, you are able to almost completely automate most of the operations on your ship leaving you to just drive.
