Former Deadpool writer Daniel Way wrote the script along with High Moon Studios. The meta-story centers on Deadpool kidnapping High Moon Studios employees and forcing them to make “the coolest game starring himself,” hiring Nolan North as his voice actor in the process. The story of the game unfolds with DP agreeing to a mission to assassinate Chance White (he doesn’t know why he accepted it, as he simply follows the part of the game script that he bothered to read), a corrupt media magnate. whose television channel produces programming of such quality as ” Jump the shark” In which celebrities must literally jump into a water tank containing a voracious great white shark.

DP assaults White’s media headquarters, murders the guards there, and throws himself and White out of a window and into the sewers (spending the game budget in the process.)

Sinister escapes and Deadpool meets Wolverine, Rogue, Psylocke, and Domino from the X-men. The X-men pretend to follow Mister Sinister to Genosha, but Deadpool insists on flying the plane and crashes it, knocking them all unconscious except himself (despite Deadpool’s attempts to wake up Wolverine by repeatedly slapping him). While touring Genosha, Deadpool meets Cable, who has come from the future to ensure that Sinister’s plan is not successful.
