Following a fatal car accident, players take on the role of Angela, a young girl from the town of Yesterby, who finds herself watching over her loved ones as they navigate the grieving process. Using her ethereal ability to influence the townspeople she once knew, Angela’s choices will ultimately determine the fate of Yesterby.
We experience all sorts of things that can best be described as twists and turns, because the residents have their differences, they argue, they make up, they make decisions, sometimes independently and therefore surprising for the player or through our influence in Closer the Distance.
The characters develop over the course of the game and thus show more and more of their own personality. Because each of them has their own character traits, their own wishes and needs, no one is the same as the other. We get to know the personalities of the villagers, influence the course of their story with our decisions and also influence other characters so that everyone can let go of Angela and devote themselves to their own lives again.
